As the days become short and Northern winds blow,
The forest senses it’s time to slow.
Brown Bear hears winter’s call.
It’s time to prepare, for one and for all.

Fir Tree stands tall, with her lush green cloak thick and warm.
A home for all creatures, a shelter from harm.
“Come, my neighbors, gather close and share.
Together we’ll celebrate this crisp wintry air.”
Under Fir’s branches, mighty and strong,
Brown Bear gathers her forest friends along.
“Winter is near, it’s time to rest,
To care for each other, for that is our quest.”

Squirrel darts here and there,
Stashing acorns with love and care.
“I’ll leave some behind for those who fly by,”
She smiles, looking up at the chilly sky.

Crow’s family gathers high,
Watching the Canada Geese in a graceful line.
“With seeds from Squirrel, we have strength for flight.
Let’s soar south through this frosty light.”

Deer and his fawn stroll through the first brush of snow.
Their coats thick and warm as the brisk winds blow.
“Let’s follow the echoes of Crow’s wings so near,
To branches and fallen leaves where snowy paths grow clear.”

Beaver hears the crunch of Deer’s tracks,
And gathers thick branches to bring safely back.
“With mud and sticks, I’ll build my strong wall,
A shelter for winter, sturdy and tall.”

Fox drinks the crisp water near Beaver’s strong dam,
Then follows the tracks where the cold winds began.
“Under Fir’s shelter, I’ll dig and I’ll rest,
Preparing for winter, I’ve finished my quest.”

As all the forest animals find their places to rest,
In hidden hollows, where they’re gently caressed,
The children gather close, in a circle they stay,
Under Fir’s branches at the end of the day.

They sing “A Winter’s Call,” a song soft and clear,
Celebrating the season that’s drawing near.
With voices united, they honour the snow,
And the beauty of winter as it begins to glow.

As night settles in and stars softly gleam,
The forest and children drift into a dream.
Together they rest, as thick snowflakes fall,
Embracing the calm of winter’s sweet call.
